Understand the system
Before optimizing individual features, I try to understand how data, state, infrastructure, and users move through the entire system.
About
I’m a software engineer focused on building reliable products and the systems behind them. My work spans backend architecture, artificial intelligence, real-time data, geospatial systems, mobile applications, and web platforms.
I enjoy working on problems where multiple parts of a system have to operate together reliably — from device communication and data pipelines to APIs, databases, maps, and user-facing applications.
My approach is practical and engineering-driven: understand the problem, design the right boundaries, keep the system understandable, and build for reliability from the beginning.
Engineering philosophy
00
Before optimizing individual features, I try to understand how data, state, infrastructure, and users move through the entire system.
01
Well-defined responsibilities make systems easier to reason about, test, evolve, and operate as they grow.
10
Production systems have unreliable networks, unexpected input, changing requirements, and operational constraints. Software should account for those conditions.
11
I avoid adding infrastructure or abstractions simply because they are available. Complexity should exist because it solves a real problem.
Technical areas
Designing backend services, APIs, authentication, authorization, domain logic, and integrations.
Working with relational, geospatial, real-time, and distributed data systems.
Building systems that communicate with physical devices and process real-time telemetry and commands.
Building maintainable web interfaces and administration platforms around complex backend systems.
Developing cross-platform applications with real-time data, maps, device state, and responsive interfaces.
Working with maps, coordinates, spatial queries, routes, geofences, and location history.
Currently focused on
My current work is centered around GPS and connected-device systems, with a particular focus on backend architecture, real-time telemetry, geospatial data, mobile experiences, and the infrastructure that connects them.
